![]() ![]() The only reason I ask is that I am going on vacation (1.5 hr drive up to Maine) next Saturday morning and I won't have the opportunity to do this during the week. Am I okay driving as-is for now or is there a chance it will get catastrophically worse? Seems that in the last month and a half since I have owned the car, I have lost about 1/2 reservoir of coolant over approx 1200 miles so it's a pretty slow leak that I think started before I bought the car as the coolant was a little low when I got it. Anything else I should inspect or replace while I am in there?ĥ. For those of you that have done it.any tips or tricks or should I follow the a4mods method to the letter? Should I drain the coolant first? If so, how much coolant should I buy.Ĥ. should I buy OEM or should I go with the ECS kit? ģ. ![]() Makes it kind of hard to watch though and the first 30 seconds are basically me just reaching my arm through the small gap between the motor and the air box. Here is the video.quality is terrible and I shot it in slow-mo so I could get a better look. In the video, I don't think I actually captured the flange, but you can see a drop of pink coolant on a line and the general area of the leak. I took a video blindly sticking the phone back there because I couldn't really see anything. Can you confirm if the flange is actually the problem I am dealing with? Knowing nothing and never having heard of the coolant flange, I traced the slow leak I've been having from a spot on the driveway to a drip from the transmission to some moisture and pink crustiness on top of the tranny at the back of the engine. I italicize major because this is certainly a major undertaking for me, but I understand for those of you tearing apart or swapping your entire engines this is probably nothing.ġ. I have done simple things like changing oil, replacing brake rotors/pads, interior switches and bulbs, etc. I must admit I am a little nervous as I am a very inexperienced mechanic. Okay, so I have read the a4mods DIY but I still have a few questions. ![]()
